Borrego it’s not you Michael Jordan doesn’t know what the bleep he’s doing
Just when I give Michael Jordan credit for making good front office moves he goes and do something dumb like fire James Borrego. Look I’m not saying James Borrego is Phil Jackson, I’m just saying he was improving the Charlotte Hornets.
I set the Hornets win bar at thirty five wins and of course the exceeded those expectations by eight. Coach Borrego had a difficult time coaching a Hornets team that don’t have a seven footer in the paint nor did he have the thirty million dollar man Gordon Hayward for most of the season.
The Hornets had a deep roster, I mean a roster that could have gotten them into the second round of the playoffs. Hornets bench was a big part of why they won those 43 regular season games. Obure Jr. was a good addition along with other quality players that added instant offense.
But the biggest part of the Charlotte Hornets problem was they defense sucked. The Hornets couldn’t stop an old lady from crossing the street. They could guard a damn statue. I just feel like the Hornets last game which was the playing game vs the Hawks…that loss had nothing to do with coach Borrego. The Hornets shot in the 30% for field goals and three point goals…That’s not on Borrego.
