North Carolina Shelter Dog Goes Viral After Tearing Ear Off Toy to Match Him
Anytime a shelter dog can go viral and get adopted, I’m here for it. But it makes it that much more meaningful when it’s a local and deserving shelter! Growing up in Raleigh, a lot of our animals were actually from the Wake County SPCA. My mom volunteered there for many years and we have many foster fails.
Bruno, a shelter dog from the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) in Wake County, is going viral after photos were posted of him and a toy. Not just any toy, a toy that was missing the same ear that Bruno was missing. An employee saw Bruno tear off the same ear that he is missing of his favorite toy and immediately took pictures and shared to social media.
Bruno used to live chained up outside and his ear was torn off when another dog attacked him and he was unable to run away.
This story wouldn’t be complete without a happy ending. Bruno (and his favorite toy) found their forever home this week! The SPCA posted a photo of the happy family online writing:
“And just like that, Bruno has a new dad!!! Of course, his matching stuffie HAS to go with him so they can be buds forever.”
