South Carolina Zoo One of the Largest to Visit in the U.S.
Are you a fan of animals? Well, I am, and visiting a zoo is one of those things that I do enjoy. When I was younger, I used to visit the zoo in Columbia, South Carolina frequently. Seeing animals that you don’t see all of the time is one of the coolest experiences. There are many animals that you can see from tigers, zebras, giraffes, and so much more!
A-Z Animals has made a list of the largest zoos in the United States on the list. Zoos are very popular across the country and everyone enjoys a trip to the zoo with their family. With over 10,000 zoos across the world, it’s nice to know we’re in close proximity to a great one. South Carolina’s Riverbanks Zoo was named one of the largest in the United States. Riverbanks Zoo has nearly 3,000 animals, 400 species, and is 170 acres big. The zoo first opened in 1974 and the giraffe overlook is its most popular feature. I have seen it in person and it is truly a great experience!
If you want to experience a new zoo that maybe you have not tried, then Riverbanks Zoo might be the place to go. They are open pretty much every day except Thanksgiving and Christmas. Time to plan an animal adventure! Riverbanks Zoo is calling us all. Check out the full list here and see what other zoos are great to visit this year.
