Video Shows Multiple Sharks Feast On Bate Right Off The South Carolina Coast
We all know sharks live in the ocean, it’s a slight portion of why I have a hard fast rule to never get in water I can’t see my feet in. It’s their home. It’s also home to millions of other marine animals and its own food chain. And a video shared on social media over the weekend demonstrates that. Myrtle Beach, SC meteorologist Ed Piotrowski, of WPDE, shared an incredible video on Facebook. In the footage (shown below) you can see multiple sharks feasting on a school of fish right off the South Carolina coast. The video was filmed off Pawley’s Island which is a barrier island just south of Myrtle.
The Video
Piotrowski says he came across the video from a man named Michael (theMilkywayChaser on IG and Threads). This is some of the clearest, blue water I have seen on a North or South Carolina beach. Yes, I visit often but I can be critical. Piotrowski says this is due to the lack of major storms in the area. The calmer waters mean less sediment and clearer water.
Last week was one of the busiest weeks of the year for beaches across the country. So to know this video of sharks off the South Carolina coast was filmed within sight of the beaches, which were packed, is a little startling. If you’re heading to the beach the rest of the summer (or any time) make sure to keep an eye out for any of the creatures that call the ocean home. It’s best to stay close to the shore. Or if you’re me just pull up a chair have the waves crash at your feet, and take a quick dip when it gets too hot. Unless it’s a LandShark (and outside of Margaritaville I don’t think those exist) I will not be getting up close with a shark in South Carolina.
