Inspectors Found Insects And Mold In This North Carolina Fast Food Restaurant

There is room for improvement.  County Health inspectors found insects and mold in this North Carolina fast-food restaurant.

A Wendy's in north Charlotte received a "B" grade from Mecklenburg County health inspectors according to the Charlotte Observer. The report says there were health violations including evidence of mold and insects on the premises. The Wendy's at Cambridge Commons Drive was reportedly inspected on August 8. They received a score of 87.5.

Documents show health inspectors found "lots of flies" and mold growing inside a cooler.  Other findings cited include bleu cheese being stored above the required temperatures and food left in microwaves overnight. The food found in the microwaves overnight reportedly includes cooked hamburger patties, baked potatoes, and cheese sauce.  The restaurant was also cited after inspectors noticed an employee "sucking on sucker" and then handling food without washing hands.

This is the first time this restaurant has received a "b" grade.
