Photos Show Rare Family Of White Deer Living In North Carolina
Even living well within the city limits of Charlotte I see a lot of wildlife. I’ve seen everything from raccoons to coyotes, to rabbits, and have heard of people nearby even having foxes in their yard. And of course, deer are commonplace, and I rarely go a week without seeing several. But one thing I’ve never seen is white or albino deer in North Carolina. But an anchor with Raleigh news station WRAL shared a photo shared with them of a family of three albino deer spotted in the state.
The photo is from Person County and shows one of the deer leaping across the rural road. Other photos of presumably the same family of three white deer in North Carolina have been shared as well on social media.
I reported back in 2021 about an albino deer sighting in the Raleigh North Carolina area, during a time when unusual animal sightings were an everyday occurrence in the capital city. It is estimated that one in 30,000 deer are albino. Hard to believe I haven’t seen more than 30,000 deer in my lifetime!
