Is This North Carolina City Really One Of The Rudest Cities In America?

It’s just human nature that from time to time we probably all could be accused of being ‘rude.’ But, what behaviors are considered rude? And, where are the rudest cities in America? Well, a recent study is about to call them out. And, you may not like it!

According to WFMY, a recent study by Preply set out to determine the rudest cities in America by looking at various factors that they considered rude. Some of these behaviors included playing music too loudly in public, lacking ‘self awareness’ when walking down grocery aisles and talking on speakerphones or being loud in public in general.

Rudest Cities In America List Includes This North Carolina Spot

So, which North Carolina city made the top 10 when it comes to the rudest cities in America? It’s none other than Charlotte. The Queen City actually came in as 10th on the list of rudest cities in America. And apparently, Preply conducted their previous study, using data from 2022 as a springboard comparison.

One of the things that weighed against Charlotte is it seems the city has gotten ruder in the past 2 years rather than improving. But, we aren’t the only city that’s seen its ranking get worse. Charlotte is in the same boat along with Louisville, KY, Austin, TX and Chicago.

However, Charlotte beat out New York City and Los Angeles for overall rudeness. Also, our drivers tend to score high on the rude list. But, the study says the rudest city in America is Miami.

And, the study indicates that the older a resident is, the more likely they are to blame rude behavior on ‘transplants,’ not natives to the spot. Like any large growing city, we certainly have a lot of people moving in from all over the country.

But, it’s my experience that doesn’t necessarily mean anything. Rude comes in all shapes and sizes and from many places. Still, 1 in 4 Americans have actually considered moving away from their city due to increasing perceived rude behaviors. Have you ever thought about moving strictly for that reason?

And, to add some inspiration for our residents to change, the same study found our friends in Raleigh made the top 10 LEAST rude cities in America.

So, Charlotte, you may be the Queen City, but, you have some work to do to collect that Miss Congeniality crown. To see more check out the full study and determine what you take away.

These Are the Most Dangerous Cities in America

It’s always interesting to see which cities are considered safe and dangerous in the US. It can also be helpful if you’re planning a big move. Now, there’s a new study out that pinpoints the most dangerous cities in America.

The new study comes from Noradarealestate.com. In it, they say, “From gang violence to high levels of property crime, these cities have earned their spots on the list.” Yikes.

Before we get to the crime in each region of the country, let’s look at some of the No. 1s in this study. According to Noradarealestate.com, the “FBI’s most dangerous city” in the West is Stockton, California. In the Midwest, it’s St. Louis, Missouri. Then, in the South, it’s Baltimore, Maryland; and in the Northeast, it’s Hartford, Connecticut. Noradarealestate.com notes that even though these cities are dangerous in the report, “each of these cities has also demonstrated resilience and a commitment to addressing these issues through various initiatives and collaborative efforts. By focusing on community engagement, comprehensive strategies, and investment in socio-economic development, these cities can work towards creating safer, more inclusive, and prosperous communities for all residents.” So, it’s not all dismal. There is definitely hope.

So, what’s the most dangerous city in America? Detroit. “The violent crime index, encompassing homicides, robberies, and aggravated assaults, is alarmingly high,” the study states. “The prevalence of guns and gang activity further exacerbates the issue, making Detroit a concerning place in terms of personal safety.” That said, I love Detroit, and even though it’s good to see which cities are trending up and down in terms of crime, remember that every city has its good and bad areas.
