NC State Wolfpack Putting Cardboard Fans In Stands
The NC State Wolfpack football team will play their home opener against Wake Forest on Saturday, September 19th. There won’t be any fans in the stands due to coronavirus concerns, but you can still be there in cardboard form.
Starting at $79, a cardboard cutout of your likeness can sit along the east sideline, north end zone, or south end zone at Carter-Finley Stadium in Raleigh. If you upgrade to the $99 premium package, you can choose to “sit” in the north or south end zone and have your cutout autographed by head coach Dave Doeren (below) at the end of the season. The NFL’s Philadelphia Eagles are doing something similar at their stadium. For $100 each, they’re putting cardboard cutouts of their fans in the seats at Lincoln Financial Field. That money is being used to benefit the Eagles Autism Foundation.
Proceeds from sales of the cardboard cutouts at Carter-Finley Stadium will go toward offsetting the loss of revenue by the NC State Athletics Department. That’s something all college sports teams are suffering this year. You can get more information HERE.
