14 Foot Alligator Targets Girl Scouts At Camp
Girl Scout camp should be as safe and wholesome as any experience on the planet, right? Wrong. I spent 13 summers of my life at a summer camp on Lake Wylie, SC. And which counselors used to mess with us and say there were things like alligators or manatees in the lake, we knew it wasn’t true. That wasn’t true for a group of Girl Scouts, however. An alligator charged at a group of Girl Scouts who were at a lake in Texas according to a story first reported by TMZ.

The video, which you can see here, shows the gator quickly approaching the girls who were swimming in the lake. The girls immediately start clamoring towards the shore, some jumping on a nearby job to escape the massive reptile. The supervising adults can be heard in the background of the video as well. The incident occurred at Lake Raven at Huntsville State Park in Huntsville, Texas where the Girl Scout troop was reportedly on a camping trip.
This goes back to one simple rule I have. I don’t get in water I can’t see my feet in. This eliminates pretty much every lake in existence. On rare occasions, I might get in to go tubing or participate in a similar activity. I will not be leisurely swimming around though. And this is one of several reasons why. Unpopular opinion as well, but the older I get the more gross I find lakes. This story, while we are far from Texas, doesn’t make me regret that decision either!
Thankfully it seems like everyone was okay in this incident and no injuries occurred. That alligator taught the Girl Scouts a lot of lessons that day, I’m sure though! You can read the full story from TMZ here.
