These North And South Carolina Cities Have Been Named Among The Rudest In The Nation
It seems there’s a list for everything these days. If you can dream up a topic, there’s a ranking that fits it. But, I ran across a ‘study’ from travel.alot.com that named the rudest cities in each state in the country. And, according to their tongue and cheek analysis these North and South Carolina cities have been named among the ‘rudest in the nation.’
The unofficial study claims that whether it’s traffic or economy or just tough living conditions these cities seem to have a bigger concentration of what most of us might consider rude behavior. And, I know that’s a subjective term for some. Plenty of folks are sensitive these days to what a lot of us in the past might not have deemed rude behavior. But, sometimes, the lines are clear between decent and downright ugly behavior.
So, here we go. According to the list from travel.alot.com, the rudest city in North Carolina title belongs to the Queen City of Charlotte. Full disclosure, the article points out that this isn’t the first time Charlotte fell onto a list of the rudest in the nation. Travel + Leisure named it as such back in 2017. And, one of the aspects of the city that this article pointed to as a potential reason for the attitude was Charlotte-Douglas International Airport.
After all, they point out it’s easy to let your rude flag fly when navigating a busy airport. That’s fair. But, it’s really not the city’s fault. And, many of those folks are just passing through and not always actually from the Queen City. Nonetheless, it’s on the list.
Then, what about South Carolina? This one is a bit more unexpected. The article named Dillon, South Carolina to its rudest cities in every state list. Now, I didn’t know about Dillon until last year when my son’s girlfriend at the time lived there. It’s a tiny dot on the map. And, she was one of the absolute sweetest girls ever. But, travel.alot.com says the town has a bit of crime that tends to fall into the ‘rude’ category and put people in some kind of mood. And, apparently there’s a large commuter population and some road rage.
So, there ya go. These North and South Carolina cities have been named among the rudest in the nation. See the full story for more spots in the country making the list.
