Y’all, I love trying restaurants and new foods! So, when I see a comprehensive list like Open Table’s Top 100 for 2023, I can’t wait to find out who made the cut. And, here’s the only South Carolina restaurant to make Open Table’s Top 100 for 2023. But, while it’s true that some states had multiple spot appear on the list, the Palmetto state has just one.
And, the only South Carolina restaurant to make Open Table’s Top 100 for 2023 is The Bluffton Room in Bluffton, South Carolina. First, Open Table poured over 12 million verified diner reviews, metrics, ratings, percentage of reservations made in advance and 5-star reviews to come up with the list. So, this is quite the process to make the cut. And, with soooo many restaurants available to diners nationwide, I think it’s fairly impressive to appear on this one.
So, let’s learn more about the only South Carolina restaurant to make Open Table’s Top 100 for 2023. The Bluffton Room is in the heart of Old Town Bluffton. And, according to an advisory on their website, it appears to be a special occasion type spot not suitable for kids under 13. And, the site indicates it has to do with the size of the dining room and tableside service. Apparently, there’s no room for chaos. LOL. But, kids are welcomed on the patio, tho.
And, they refer to their American cuisine and cocktails as reminiscent of the classic dinner party. Plus, Open Table reviewers rave about the ‘world class’ experience from the food to atmosphere and service. And, popular dishes include their filet mignon and a yummy looking bananas foster. But, they have a pretty extensive menu with pork, seafood, salads and appealing sides.

The best restaurant is a bold claim to make. Obviously, I have not eaten at every restaurant in every North Carolina city and town. So I dug through Yelp reviews to help me out. Because you deserve to know what the best is, whether it’s your city, a nearby place, or somewhere you’re planning a trip. Many of the restaurants included on this list are hidden gems you may not have even heard of. Others are staples that everyone knows! There are 50 cities and towns included on this list and these are the 50 cities and towns in the state according to Wikipedia. You’ll find them listed from smallest to largest along with the best restaurants in that North Carolina city or town.
As for the restaurants, I consulted Yelp for each city and town included on this list. Reviews were sorted by the highest rated and the restaurant had to have an address in that specific city. Food trucks were omitted as well as a few coffee shops that didn’t offer food other than a couple of pastries. Not all the places included have sit-down meals but you can get a full meal at all of them. You’ll find a wide variety of restaurants including bbq, southern homestyle, Italian, and even Portuguese. Hopefully, this inspires you to check out a new place this weekend.
